The Israeli army had reported that fighter jets conducted airstrikes on what they claimed were Hezbollah-affiliated infrastructure inside Lebanon.
Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the Lebanese-Israeli border has witnessed daily exchanges of shelling between the Israeli occupation army and Hezbollah.
The party announces targeting Israeli military sites and positions, while the Israeli army responds with aerial and artillery bombardment, claiming to target what it calls “infrastructure” and movements of Hezbollah fighters.
Expectations for the war to escalate have increased after the assassination of the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Saleh al-Arouri, in an Israeli airstrike in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah.
Hezbollah responded by launching more than 60 rockets at a military airbase in northern occupied Palestine, stating that this bombardment is part of the “initial response” to the assassination of al-Arouri.
