Netanyahu’s Fury Over ‘Leak Epidemic’ Sparks Push for Lie Detector Laws in Israel

Watan-Hebrew media outlets reported on a state of anger that has gripped Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu due to what is referred to as the “leak epidemic” amid the war on Gaza.

According to Hebrew reports, Netanyahu complained about what he termed the “leak epidemic” affecting his government, urging the approval of a law to conduct lie detector tests for officials participating in governmental discussions and meetings.

During the weekly meeting of his government, Netanyahu stated, “We have an epidemic of leaks, and I am not prepared to continue this way. It’s an intolerable phenomenon, and I don’t know of any country in the world where this happens.”

Netanyahu added that he instructed the promotion of a law stating that anyone attending governmental or security discussions would be subjected to a lie detector test.

He directed the National Security Council Chief, Meir Ben-Shabbat, to begin promoting the “lie detector” law project.

It is supposed that all ministers attending Cabinet meetings and security discussions will be required to undergo lie detector tests periodically.

“Intense Disputes Among Israeli Leaders

Tensions have escalated among the leaders of the Israeli occupation in the past few days, following Netanyahu’s response to the leaked sharp differences.

The Israeli Cabinet meeting witnessed a dispute between Netanyahu and his Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, due to the Prime Minister of the extremist government preventing the heads of Mossad and Shin Bet from attending a session of the war government.

Israeli Military-Political Strain

The session also witnessed intense tension between the Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army, Hertzl Halevi, and several ministers. This prompted Netanyahu to adjourn the meeting that was scheduled to discuss the “day after” phase.
