Watan-The African Football Confederation (CAF) has revealed the prize value for the champion of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast and the rewards for the continental tournament, scheduled to kick off next week in its 34th edition.
The CAF announced an increase of 40% in the prize money for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament for this edition, compared to what the Senegal national team (Teranga Lions) received in the last edition held in Cameroon in 2022.
Prize for the Champion of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast: The winner of the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast will receive a prize amounting to 7 million dollars.
Runner-up Prize: The runner-up of this edition of the continental tournament will receive 4 million dollars.
Third and Fourth Place Prizes: The teams securing the third and fourth positions in the Africa Cup of Nations will each be awarded 2.5 million dollars.
Teams reaching the quarter-finals of the continental competition will be awarded 1.3 million dollars.

Egypt’s national team (the Pharaohs) holds an impressive record, with 7 titles in the Africa Cup of Nations, making them one of the most successful African and Arab teams in the history of the tournament. The last edition saw Senegal emerge victorious over Egypt in a penalty shootout.
The 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the two-time titleholder, is set to kick off on Saturday, January 13th, with the tournament concluding on February 11th.
