Watan-In a 60-second video clip, British-American journalist Mahdi Hassan summarized the crimes committed by the occupying Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip in the latest episode of his program on an American channel, then resigned from his job.
Mahdi stated, “Let’s start the minute… Health authorities in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, say that around 23,000 people (have been martyred) since October 7th. They claim that 70% of them are women and children. According to Save the Children, a larger number of children in Gaza (have been martyred) in the first three weeks after October 7th, compared to conflict areas combined since 2019.”
He added, “Civilians in Gaza (have been martyred) by Israel in three months more than the US-led coalition forces killed in Syria and Iraq during the three-year bombing campaign against ISIS, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.”

He pointed out that Gaza is the deadliest conflict ever, according to the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, while the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) states that 85% of Gaza’s population, totaling 2.3 million people, have been displaced from their homes.
According to the World Food Programme, four out of every five people on Earth are living in famine or catastrophic hunger conditions in the Gaza Strip, according to Mahdi.
Severe Destruction in Gaza
He pointed out that, concerning material destruction, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal, 70% of the 400,000 houses in the Gaza Strip have suffered damage or destruction.
He noted the destruction of about 10% of all buildings in Germany during World War II between 1942 and 1945, compared to 33% of all buildings destroyed by Israel in the Gaza Strip in less than three months.
As for the closure of most of the hospitals, totaling 36 hospitals, he affirmed that Gaza is witnessing the most intense civilian punishment campaign in history.
100 Days of War on Gaza
For the 100th consecutive day, the Israeli occupation army continues its war on the Gaza Strip, expanding its commission of genocide.
In this regard, Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), said that the past 100 days felt like 100 years for the people of Gaza.
In a statement coinciding with the 100th day of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the UN official stated that Palestinians have experienced the largest displacement since 1948 due to the bombings.
He added that 1.4 million people sought refuge in UNRWA shelters and were forced to live in inhumane conditions.
He pointed out that Gaza has witnessed in the past 100 days “the enormity of death, destruction, displacement, hunger, loss, and sorrow, staining our common humanity.”
