Israeli Government Admits Targeting Journalists in Gaza Airstrike: The Controversial Confession Unraveled
Hamza Al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thraya

Watan-The spokesperson for the Israeli government, Elon Levy, admitted during an interview with a British channel to intentionally targeting the journalists Hamza Al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thraya, who were killed a few days ago in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip.

The British interviewer, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, questioned the Israeli spokesperson about the targeting of the journalists after they were tracked and deliberately attacked.

The Israeli spokesperson claimed that Dahdouh and Thraya were carrying a drone in a war zone and alleged that one of them was a member of Hamas within the Gaza Strip.

He added, “One was the deputy commander of a Hamas unit, and the other was a member of the Islamic Jihad movement, working in electronic engineering.”

The spokesperson claimed to have a list of members of the Islamic Jihad movement, alleging that one of these journalists was on that list. However, the British journalist interrupted him, expressing skepticism about these Israeli-provided information, describing them as misleading. He then asked about regret for the killing of a large number of journalists.

The Israeli spokesperson tried to portray a sense of humanity, stating that the civilian casualties are a tragedy, but he asserted, “We have no apologies for targeting Hamas and Islamic Jihad activists who are planning for a new October 7th.”

The martyrdom of Hamza Al-Dahdouh

Hamza Al-Dahdouh, a journalist, was killed a few days ago in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a car carrying journalists, including the martyr Mustafa Thraya, who had been collaborating with Al Jazeera since the beginning of the war on October 7th.

On January 7th, Hamza and Mustafa were in a car on a mission as part of their work with Al Jazeera inside the Mawasi area, southwest of the Gaza Strip. However, the Israeli army decided to target the journalists while they were carrying out their duty of reporting the truth, launching a missile strike from an Israeli drone. Mustafa was killed in the strike, and Hamza, the son of Wael Al-Dahdouh, the director of Al Jazeera’s office in Gaza, also lost his life.
