It depicts a doctor forced to amputate his injured daughter’s foot inside their besieged home in Gaza, just a few meters away from the hospital. Despite the proximity, he is unable to reach it.

The tears of the father, Hani Bsisu, moved millions of people who reacted to the heart-wrenching scenes on social media.

Hani Bsisu was compelled to amputate the foot of his 16-year-old daughter, injured in Israeli airstrikes, within their home without anesthesia, medical tools, and under challenging conditions. The operation took place on the kitchen table, utilizing cooking utensils, a bucket with a small amount of water, and a plastic bag.

Activists expressed their shock and sympathy, with one stating, “Dr. Bsisu unleashed a scream, a father’s scream that he wished the whole world could hear… tears filled his eyes, and the horror of the moment almost killed him.”

Someone simulated the father’s situation by saying, “Look, here I am cutting my young daughter’s leg on our kitchen table in our besieged home! Where is your humanity?! Look at the injustice we are living through!”

Rising toll of casualties in the Gaza war

On the 101st day of the aggression on Gaza, the occupying forces continued their bombardment in the southern and central parts of the region. The Ministry of Health in Gaza recently reported that the occupation forces committed 11 massacres, resulting in 125 martyrs in the past 24 hours.

The ministry announced an increase in the toll of the occupation’s victims to 23,968 martyrs, in addition to 60,582 wounded.
