Watan-The Royal Navy of Britain has revealed details of the collision incident between two British ships in one of the ports of Bahrain.

Video footage showed the ship “Chiddingfold” moving backward towards the ship “Bangor,” which was stationary in the harbor.

As evident from the incident scenes, the collision had a significant impact, with footage showing the ship “Bangor” shaking from the force of the collision.

Details of the ship collision incident

The Royal Navy stated in a release that two of its mine-hunting ships collided in a Bahraini port, confirming that an investigation into the incident has been initiated.

Admiral Edward Algreen, the Commander of Royal Navy Operations, stated that no one was injured, but some damage occurred. He added, “I assure you that a complete and comprehensive investigation is already underway, and any necessary adjustments to procedures that would prevent such incidents from happening again will be implemented quickly.”

He emphasized that the United Kingdom will continue to play a leading role in ensuring the safety of commercial shipping in the region.

It is worth noting that in April 2018, Britain reopened its naval base in Bahrain, named HMS Jufair Naval Support Facility.

The British base in Bahrain is the first in the Middle East in four decades, hosting elements of the British Navy, including sailors, soldiers, and pilots.

Britain established HMS Jufair Naval Support Facility for the first time in 1935 before Manama gained its independence in 1971.

British participation in striking Houthi sites

A week ago, Britain, along with the United States, launched a series of strikes on military sites affiliated with Houthi supporters in Yemen, before the U.S. military targeted Houthi sites again in recent days.

This comes in response to attacks carried out by the Houthis in recent weeks on commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, which they claim are linked to or heading to Israel, in support of Gaza, where Israel has been waging a war since October 7 of last year.
