Israeli Forces Storm Nablus: Two Palestinians Executed, Dozens Injured and Arrested

In a sweeping military operation in the old city of Nablus, Israeli forces executed two young men, wounded dozens, and imposed curfews as tensions escalate across the occupied West Bank.

Watan-Israeli occupation forces escalated their military operations in the occupied West Bank, launching a major raid on the city of Nablus early Tuesday. The assault resulted in the execution of two young Palestinians in the old city and the injury and arrest of dozens of others.

The operation began at dawn and continued throughout the day, during which Israeli troops imposed a curfew on the neighborhoods of the old city, turning it into a battleground.

According to the Israeli army, two Palestinians were killed and four Israeli soldiers were injured in the operation.

“Israeli army forces, in coordination with Shin Bet and Border Police, launched a military operation in the Qasbah neighborhood (old city) of Nablus,” the military announced on X.

They claimed to have searched over 250 buildings, arrested six “wanted individuals,” and confiscated weapons.
The army further alleged that two suspects tried to seize a soldier’s weapon, leading to a close-range shooting where both were killed.

House Raids and Violent Clashes

Troops stormed dozens of homes, particularly those belonging to martyrs from the Lions’ Den resistance group, expelling families and ordering them to vacate their homes for 24 hours.

Eyewitnesses report that two youths were brutally assaulted, and one attempted to defend himself. Israeli soldiers responded by shooting him at point-blank range.

Reports also indicate that four soldiers were injured in an explosion, likely caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) in the narrow alleys of the old city. Sources suggest one Palestinian may have attempted to seize a soldier’s weapon, causing confusion that led to friendly fire among Israeli soldiers.

At least four military helicopters landed in Nablus to evacuate the wounded soldiers to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in occupied Jerusalem.

Conflicting Narratives and Video Evidence

Channel 12 (Israel) reported that a Palestinian youth managed to seize a soldier’s weapon and opened fire, injuring several. However, Palestinian sources and video evidence contradict this, showing soldiers beating the youth, who then defended himself before being executed in cold blood.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported:

  • 3 wounded by live ammunition shrapnel

  • 4 physically assaulted

  • 1 child (18 months) hospitalized

  • 55 injured from tear gas inhalation

City Paralyzed by Operation

As a result of the raid, Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas announced the suspension of classes and government services, closing schools, universities, and institutions citywide.

This marks the first major Israeli military operation in Nablus since the start of the war known as “Operation Iron Swords”, expanding raids beyond camps like Jenin, Tulkarem, Nur Shams, Al-Far’a, Balata, Al-Ain, and Askar.
