Watan-Twitter users are circulating unconfirmed reports that the Palestinian resistance has successfully downed an Israeli Apache helicopter in the skies of Khan Yunis, which has been under wide-scale attack by the Israeli army for several days.
According to the tweets, an Israeli Apache helicopter was targeted near the College of Applied Sciences west of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Activist Bilal Nizar Ryan tweeted, “For the first time, the resistance managed to shoot down an Apache helicopter with an anti-aircraft missile.”
No Palestinian party has confirmed the reports of downing the Israeli helicopter. However, the news spread after the Al-Mujahideen Brigades released a video showing the targeting of a helicopter with a shoulder-launched missile, while the helicopter deployed heat decoy flares to divert the missile.
Following this, the Al-Mujahideen Brigades shared a photo on Telegram with the caption: “Your planes are within the range of our missiles.”
On the 111th day of the aggression on Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces committed new massacres against civilians, resulting in dozens of casualties.
Simultaneously, intense battles are taking place in Khan Yunis, and the resistance announced new operations against the occupying forces in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
In this context, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, Abu Ubaida, announced the results of the Al-Qassam fighters’ operations during the past week.
Abu Ubaida stated, “Our mujahideen prepared during the past week for 53 Zionist soldiers from point zero, sniping 9 soldiers.”
They also inflicted dozens of casualties among the Zionist soldiers in the past week, between killed and injured, in 57 different military missions.
The spokesperson added that Al-Qassam fighters targeted Zionist forces last week with shells, anti-fortification and personnel devices, and machine guns.
He mentioned that they demolished 4 houses last week, blew up two tunnel entrances, and a minefield in the enemy’s soldiers.
Meanwhile, Abu Ubaida stated that they destroyed 68 military vehicles entirely or partially during the past week. They also downed two Sky Lark reconnaissance planes last week and seized 8 unmanned aerial vehicles.
