Survival Amidst Devastation: Abasan al-Kabira Rescues Young Man from Rubble in Gaza
Watan-Residents of the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza Strip, managed to rescue a young man who was alive after spending eight full days under the rubble of a house bombed by Israeli occupation aircraft.
The town’s residents transported the injured young man to the hospital in a civilian car, and he showed signs of emaciation and extreme weakness.
Civil defense teams were unable to reach the homes targeted by the occupation, especially with Israeli soldiers shooting at anyone moving and targeting ambulances.
Intensive shelling on Khan Yunis
Khan Yunis has been subjected to intensified Israeli shelling in recent times, affecting various parts of the city in an attempt to pressure its residents to evacuate towards Rafah city.
In the past hours, the Israeli occupation focused its bombardment on southern Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, targeting the Nasser Medical Complex and a UNRWA center housing thousands of displaced people, resulting in dozens of casualties.
Areas in the central and western parts of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip were subjected to intense Israeli artillery shelling. The Gaza Health Ministry stated that the occupation besieged hospitals in Khan Yunis, accusing them of committing “genocidal crimes” west of the province.
Statistically, a Palestinian medical source reported that 50 Palestinians were killed and 120 were injured in Israeli shelling targeting the western areas of Khan Yunis in the past 24 hours.

In turn, the director of UNRWA in Gaza, Thomas White, stated that the training center was shelled by two tanks, causing a fire.
UN condemnation
The United Nations condemned the “flagrant violation” of the laws of war after the bombing of the UNRWA shelter for displaced people in Khan Yunis.
Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said that the organization sent a team to assess the situation at the UNRWA training center in Khan Yunis, which was targeted, noting that the center housed tens of thousands of displaced people.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, condemned Israel’s behavior in demanding the evacuation of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip while continuing to bombard the city without giving Palestinians the opportunity to leave.
