Watan-The official Israeli broadcasting authority aired a video documenting the hiding of a large number of occupation soldiers inside the “Sufa” military site located in the Gaza Strip during the “Aqsa Deluge” operation on the seventh of October last year.

The “Kan” channel affiliated with the broadcasting authority stated that the footage was captured from the Sufa site and documents the first minutes of the fighting on October 7.

Hiding in a dining room

The documentation shows Nahal fighters – known as the elite forces in the occupation army – hiding in the dining room of the site from continuous gunfire by Palestinian resistance fighters.

The channel added that after hours, with the assistance of military helicopters and fighters from the Navy Commando Unit (Shayetet 13), which arrived and fought immediately, control over the site was regained after 11 soldiers were killed. It claimed that some Palestinian resistance fighters were martyred.

Transfer of regular forces to the battle

The channel pointed out that at that time, regular forces and reserve forces belonging to the “Shayetet 13” unit were transported by helicopters shortly after receiving reports of the infiltration of Palestinian resistance fighters along the Gaza border that morning, joining the forces fighting in the field.

The “Aqsa Deluge” was an operation carried out by Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip against Israel on the dawn of Saturday, October 7, 2023. It included a ground, sea, and air attack, as well as infiltration by resistance members into several settlements in the Gaza Strip.

Mohammed al-Daif, the chief of staff of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced the operation, which was considered the largest attack on Israel in decades.

Infiltration beyond borders

Palestinian militants infiltrated settlements in the Gaza Strip through the border fence and human frogmen units from the sea, in addition to paratroopers from the “Al-Saqr” brigade affiliated with the Al-Qassam Brigades.

Al-Daif said in a recorded voice message on the dawn of Saturday, October 7, 2023: “We declare the start of the Aqsa Deluge operation with an initial strike targeting enemy sites, airports, and military fortifications.”

He added that this initial strike exceeded 5,000 missiles and shells during the first 20 minutes of the operation.
