Watan-Continuing the extensive Israeli attack on Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, a Turkish military analyst stated that the al-Qassam Brigades succeeded in thwarting the force of the assault.
Retired Turkish military colonel and analyst Eray Güçüler, in a military analysis on the Turkish channel Haber Global regarding the battles in Khan Yunis, mentioned that the entire area of Gaza does not exceed 365 square kilometers, yet Israel dedicated an entire military corps to control it.
Güçüler added, “Normally, a corps in the army is assigned to control an area of 1500 square kilometers, while Israel allocated all this force to control 365 square kilometers.” Turkish journalist and political analyst Muhammad Janbakli also conveyed this information through his account on the X platform.
The retired colonel remarked, “Let me tell you something… In reality, Israel did not expect this remarkable resilience from Hamas.”

He continued, “When I saw the force that Israel allocated to Khan Yunis, I expected in less than a month that Israel would divide Gaza into two new sections, and Israeli forces would reach the sea in Khan Yunis in less than a month. But what happened is that the attacking force stopped at Salah al-Din Street. Al-Qassam managed to thwart the attack force.”
The Israeli army failed to achieve its goal in the attack on Khan Yunis
He further explained, “When the sweeping attack force in Khan Yunis ended, they had to hastily reposition because they could not defend themselves after losing the attack force.”
According to the colonel, this means that the Israeli army has failed, from two months ago until now, to achieve its goal in the attack on Khan Yunis and the division of Gaza into two new sections. They were forced into confrontation with al-Qassam, which employs guerrilla warfare tactics.
In such a situation, losing the attack force means losing the ability to defend oneself. Therefore, I expect that the Israeli army will withdraw from residential areas in Khan Yunis towards agricultural areas to reassess its position, said the Turkish military expert.
He concluded by saying, “Despite the significant technological superiority of the Israeli army, the moral superiority is very clear in the battle. One side fights for death as a martyr, and the other fights for survival.”
