watan-The Observatory for Human Rights in the Mediterranean has revealed that the bombs dropped by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip in 4 months exceed the bombs used by Hitler in World War II.

The director of the observatory, Rami Abdo, published a post on his “X” platform account, quoting the Hebrew newspaper “Kol Ha’ir,” stating that the bombs dropped by the Israeli army on Gaza in 4 months exceed those used by Russia in its war on Ukraine over two years.

Estimates also indicate that the quantity of bombs used by the Israeli army in Gaza exceeds those used by Hitler in World War II.

The Mediterranean Observatory documents ongoing Israeli crimes

The Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights issued a report on Sunday, 48 hours after the International Court of Justice’s decision obligating Israel to take measures to prevent the commission of the crime of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The report documented the continued killing of civilians, forced displacement, and starvation by the Israeli army at the same pace.

The Observatory stated that it documented the Israeli army killing more than 373 Palestinians, in addition to more than 643 injuries, since the issuance of the court’s decision.

It added that Israel continues to ignore the decision of the highest court in the world, violating its international commitments, including the rules and principles of international law, insisting on continuing to commit serious violations amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity, including genocide against Palestinians.

The Mediterranean Observatory explained that, in addition to the ongoing Israeli bombing operations, including the destruction of residential homes and the forced killing of evacuees after terrifying them and compelling them to obey illegal Israeli evacuation orders, Israel continues its attack on the remaining healthcare system in Gaza.

It besieges partially functioning hospitals in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza and directly targets them. Both “Nasser Hospital” and the Red Crescent’s “Hospital of Hope” are on the verge of complete cessation due to the blockade and repeated targeting.

The Observatory pointed out that the water tanks in the Nasser Medical Complex were damaged due to shrapnel and fires from Israeli drones, with no real possibility of repairing any of the damage due to the blockade and targeting.

In addition, the countdown has begun to shut down the generators in the medical complex within three days, while the oxygen supply for the “Hospital of Hope” has run out due to the Israeli army’s blockade of the hospital, which continues to be targeted and surrounded.

International Court of Justice decision against Israel

The International Court of Justice issued a binding decision requiring Israel to take several interim and urgent measures to prevent the commission of all acts of genocide.

This came during the consideration of the lawsuit filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel for violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention and its punishment during its military operations against the Gaza Strip and its Palestinian residents since October 7, 2023.

Among these measures, the court demanded that Israel take immediate and effective measures to provide essential services urgently and provide humanitarian assistance to address the dire conditions faced by Palestinians in Gaza, as well as effective measures to prevent destruction and ensure the preservation of evidence related to allegations of acts related to the commission of genocide.

Occupation not committed to measures

The Mediterranean Observatory affirmed that the forces of the Israeli occupation did not commit to implementing any of these measures, as they continued intentional killing operations and extensive targeting of civilians without military necessity or proportionality in dozens of cases.

They also continued the systematic and widespread destruction of civilian objects, including homes, residential areas, neighborhoods, and specific areas that witnessed horrific crimes. This comes within the framework of destroying evidence of the commission of the genocide crime.

The Mediterranean Observatory also noted that in the past two days, more martyrs were buried in the “Nasser Hospital” square in Khan Yunis, as it was impossible to transfer them to the cemetery where Israeli forces are stationed, confirming the documentation of at least four other mass and random burial sites in squares, schools, and streets in Khan Yunis.
