The statement by the Minister of Government Communication and Official Spokesperson for the Jordanian government, Dr. Muhand Mubaidin, pointed out that the attack targeted “the American forces cooperating with Jordan in confronting the threat of terrorism and securing the borders.”

In the first official comment from Jordan on the targeting of the American base, Mubaidin, according to the statement published by the Jordan News Agency “Petra” and monitored by (Watan), expressed Jordan’s condolences to the United States for the victims of the attack carried out by a drone, and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.

“No injuries among the Jordanian forces”

Regarding inquiries about injuries among the Jordanian army, the official spokesperson for the Jordanian government stated in his statement that the terrorist attack did not result in any injuries among the soldiers of the armed forces.

Mubaidin also affirmed that Jordan will continue to confront the threat of terrorism and the smuggling of drugs and weapons across the Syrian borders into Jordan.

He added that the Jordanian army will decisively and powerfully confront anyone attempting to attack the security of the kingdom.

Jordan had previously announced its cooperation with its partners to secure the borders and requested the United States and other friendly countries to provide it with military systems and necessary equipment to enhance capabilities in securing the borders and confronting threats.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first time that American soldiers have been killed in targeted attacks by armed groups since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas last October.

According to analysts, this attack is likely to escalate tensions in the region and may lead to an expansion of the conflict, turning it into a major confrontation involving Iran and its proxies in the region directly.
