Watan-Activists shed light on Israeli dismay over the visit of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the family of the deceased Israeli soldier, Ahmed Abu Latif, a member of Unit 8200 under Brigade 261, who was killed during military operations in Gaza.
Activists described Netanyahu’s visit as deceptive, with one stating in a tweet, as reported by Watan: “The common question posed by Hebrew accounts is, why did Netanyahu go to the family of the terrorist killed, Ahmed Abu Latif? And why didn’t he visit the families of other deceased soldiers?”
Watan captured footage and images from Hebrew accounts showing Netanyahu’s visit to the family of the deceased soldier, along with statements made by the father of the deceased, Tawfiq Abu Latif.

A Palestinian observer named Tamer suggested, “The goal of this deceptive visit is to draw attention to the Israeli government’s interest in the families of Bedouin traitors during this period and support them in their isolation, especially as there are more traitors at the forefront of the fighting in Gaza,” according to his description.
Negev Bedouins and Support for the Occupation
The Palestinian tweeter continued commenting on a photo of Netanyahu offering condolences to the family of the deceased soldier Ahmed Abu Latif, noting the very small number of individuals present, limited to the father of the deceased and a few relatives: “This picture is evidence that this family represents only a very small fraction of the Negev Bedouins.”

After the visit, Netanyahu mentioned that the father of Ahmed informed him that his son “always hosted Israeli soldiers in their home and told them, ‘This is your house, this is your homeland.'”
According to Palestinian activist Tamer, Israeli police “arrested Bedouins in the city of Rahat for sheltering and hiding a number of civilian Gazans after their entry on October 7.”
Ahmed Abu Latif, along with 20 Israeli soldiers, lost his life while attempting to detonate a house in Gaza after his family was expelled from it. This occurred approximately 108 days after the Israeli war that led to the martyrdom of over 11,000 Palestinian children and 7,500 women.
