Controversy Over UAE’s Role in Ras El Hikma Deal: Mohammed Al-Abar’s Connection to Israel
Israel's plan to control Egypt

Watan-The widespread information suggesting that the Emirati businessman Mohammed Al-Abar is the Emirati party involved in the deal to purchase major resorts on Egypt’s North Coast, specifically in the city of “Ras El Hikma,” has stirred considerable controversy. This is due to Al-Abar’s known role as the largest commercial partner of the Israeli occupation in the region and a major supporter of Tel Aviv.

This has led some to speculate and consider the possibility of Israel’s involvement in this deal, suggesting that they might be the real buyers of “Ras El Hikma” through their proxy, Mohammed Al-Abar, whom some describe as the face of the Israeli occupation in the Middle East.

Recent reports have surfaced about the United Arab Emirates’ intention to purchase resorts in Ras El Hikma on the North Coast of Egypt for $22 billion. Ras El Hikma is an area within the Governorate of Marsa Matrouh, hosting several hotels owned by businessmen and major companies in Egypt, including projects by renowned companies currently under development.

The economic newspaper “Al-Mal” in Egypt confirmed these reports, stating that it learned from informed sources that the expected project for the development of Ras El Hikma City on the North Coast includes finalizing agreements between the Egyptian Ministry of Housing and several Emirati sovereign entities, notably the Ministry of Finance.

These agreements aim to execute partnerships through in-kind and cash contributions, with the Emirati side paying around $22 billion for the purchase of lands in that area. “Al-Mal” also quoted the same sources hinting that the Emirati businessman Mohammed Al-Abar, founder of “Emaar Properties,” would be tasked with managing and overseeing the construction and designs of the anticipated projects in Ras El Hikma.

The controversy surrounding the “Ras El Hikma deal” continues in Egypt

The “Egyptian Revolutionary Council” commented on these reports, stating: “Mohammed Al-Abar, whose image dominates the news of the sale of Ras El Hikma, one of the most beautiful beaches in Egypt, is the largest commercial partner of the Zionists and their prominent face. He has friendly and familial relations with them and even donates to them to build settlements on Palestinian land.”

The council further clarified in a statement monitored by “Watan” through its X account that “the true news is that Egypt sold its land in Ras El Hikma to Israel, and may God protect Egypt.”

According to a previous tweet by the council, Al-Abar is “the living embodiment of the functional Zionist predicted more than a quarter of a century ago by the pioneer of Zionist studies, Dr. Abdelwahab El-Messiri. He is Arabic in language, Muslim in religion, but functionally Zionist.”

The council explained that Al-Abar “functions as an Israeli military commander or a Jewish merchant loyal to Israel. Unfortunately, he controls a large portion of the Egyptian economy.”

A tweeter commented on this, saying: “Emirati Mohammed Al-Abar donated $100 million to Zionist settlers after the Al-Aqsa Flood operation in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.”

Reports of the sale of resorts in Ras El Hikma come amid a foreign currency crisis and the deterioration of the Egyptian pound, which lost more than half its value in just one year in parallel markets, exacerbating inflation.

The pound’s price dropped to more than 70 pounds against the US dollar in the black market, making the currency more than 50% weaker than the official exchange rate of the Central Bank, which is about 30.9 pounds.

Mohammed Al-Abar: “The Emirati shadow man” and Israel’s arm

During the recent period, there has been widespread controversy on social media about the Emirati billionaire and businessman Mohammed Al-Abar, whose name has been frequently mentioned lately. His companies, “Americana” and “Noon” for e-commerce marketing, and others from his large group of companies have suffered severe losses due to a boycott campaign due to his support for the Israeli occupation in its brutal war on Gaza.

Numerous stances have proven that the Emirati businessman Mohammed Al-Abar is a supporter of the occupation, a fan of normalization, and a lover of Israel.

Al-Abar spoke at the sidelines of the normalization conferences in 2019, at the “Bahrain Economic Workshop,” about the importance of what was called the “Deal of the Century” economically.

He extensively emphasized the “importance of investment and involvement in the promised projects in the American peace plan, i.e., (deals of normalization with the Israeli occupation).”

Jared Kushner, the architect of the American peace plan, praised Mohammed Al-Abar during the “Bahrain Conference” and described him as “a lover of the Jewish people,” according to the Israeli newspaper “Jerusalem Post.”

Founded the first Jewish synagogue in the Gulf

He is the actual founder of the first Jewish synagogue in the Arab Gulf, which he established in Dubai, and that is why Kushner’s praise did not come out of nowhere.

The first Jewish synagogue in Dubai received blessings and encouragement from the Chairman of Emaar Properties, Mohammed Al-Abar, as confirmed by Bloomberg agency in a previous report.

Mohammed Al-Abar received a gift from the Jew Eli Epstein, which was a Torah scroll three years ago. He ordered it to be wrapped in a velvet cover embroidered with gold and inscribed with a dedication in Arabic.

Thus, Al-Abar is one of the links between the Abu Dhabi authorities and the Israeli occupation for normalization, and his efforts for the “Deal of the Century” began in 2005.
