Gaza’s Silent Witness: ‘Seaford’ Vehicle’s Rampage on Egyptian Structures

Watan-A Palestinian journalist documented scenes of the “Seaford” vehicle used by the occupation army to detonate homes and civilian structures in the Gaza Strip.

The journalist Mahmoud Abu Salama stated that the occupation army used this vehicle to detonate recently constructed Egyptian towers in the northern part of Gaza City.

The footage showed significant destruction in the area, with the occupation army leaving behind the vehicle used in the explosion.

The withdrawal of the occupation army from some areas in Gaza City revealed residential towers promised by Egypt in 2021 to build in the northern Gaza Strip, significantly damaged, while others suffered partial damage due to the aggression of the occupation.

Massive Destruction in Residential Buildings

The occupation army caused massive destruction and devastation to the Egyptian buildings still under construction in the northern Gaza Strip during its incursion into Jabalia town and the area of the American School in Beit Lahia (north).

Dozens of residential buildings were completely destroyed, in addition to extensive damage to streets and infrastructure, as a result of Israeli ground, sea, and air bombardment.

The traces of the ammunition used by the Israeli artillery were seen, along with rocket fragments and bullets that penetrated residential apartments in those northern areas of the Gaza Strip.

The Story of the Egyptian Buildings

In 2021, Egypt pledged a $500 million grant for reconstruction following the Israeli war on Gaza at that time. The grant includes the construction of housing units, infrastructure development, as well as the restoration of parts of Rashid Street in the northern Gaza Strip, and the removal of rubble from buildings destroyed by Israel.

In May 2021, the Director of the Egyptian Intelligence Agency, Abbas Kamel, laid the foundation stone for the construction of Egyptian residential units funded and supervised by Egypt, named “Dar Misr” (Egypt’s Home).

The cities include 117 residential buildings and approximately 2500 housing units, according to statements by officials in the Palestinian Ministry of Works in the Gaza Strip.
