Yair Netanyahu’s Retreat from Gaza War: Exclusive Images of Luxury Hideaway

Watan-Under the sarcastic title “War? What War?” the British newspaper “Daily Mail” published exclusive photos showing Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, strolling in a luxurious apartment in a skyscraper with a monthly rent of $5000 in Florida while the war in Gaza continues.

Yair Netanyahu is accompanied by two armed guards from the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet), who accompany him to the gym, the pool, and whenever he leaves the luxurious skyscraper.

The photos show Netanyahu’s son relaxing, wearing shorts in some pictures and sportswear in others, sipping drinks, and enjoying his time with friends, one of whom is seen wearing virtual reality glasses.

Yair Netanyahu, 32, is eligible for reserve duty until the age of forty. However, while 360,000 reserve forces are enlisted to participate in the war on Gaza, he sits out of the conflict in a two-bedroom apartment in the upscale Hallandale Beach, north of Miami.

“He likes to wage wars – but through social media,” mocked Uri Misgav, a journalist for the left-leaning Israeli newspaper Haaretz and a constant critic of Netanyahu.

Netanyahu’s Son

“He’s the lazy son who celebrates in Miami while his father urges Israeli prime ministers to sacrifice their sons and lives,” he added.

Reserve soldiers who abandoned their studies, jobs, and vacations in the United States to return to Israel were criticized for not doing the same as Yair.

Yair, a podcast host active on social media in quarreling with his father’s political opponents, spent most of 2023 in the United States and hoped to secure residency before the October 7 attack.

Under public pressure, Yair returned to Tel Aviv in late November. However, he returned to the United States by mid-January, keeping a low profile in his luxurious apartment, which is one mile from the sea and a short drive from Miami Beach.

The Daily Mail noted that Yair is unable to obtain a job because he is in the United States on a tourist visa.

The newspaper said the cost of protecting Yair on his trips abroad has risen to one million shekels ($275,000) because he has to change his security clients every two weeks.
