Israeli President Reveals Secret Meeting with Qatari Prime Minister at Munich Security Conference

Watan-Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke about a “secret meeting” he had with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Germany.

During the Munich Security Conference, Herzog said: “It was a good meeting… I believe it encourages significant efforts despite the difficulty and complexity, and at the same time, we must ensure if decisions are being made on the other side.”

He added: “We are concerned about the medicines that entered the Gaza Strip, and according to the data and information available to us, they have not yet reached (the detainees).”

Herzog continued: “More importantly, everyone must understand that if they want to move forward and see the horizon regarding this terrible situation that Hamas started with unprecedented cruelty, the issue of (the detainees) must first be resolved and they must be returned to their homes safely as soon as possible.”

Secret Meeting in Munich The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that Herzog met secretly in Germany with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

The newspaper stated that the Israeli President and the Qatari Prime Minister discussed the issue of releasing prisoners in Gaza, explaining that the two met secretly as part of the Munich Security Conference.

This comes as Israeli Channel 12 reported that Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, insists on his demands during the Cairo negotiations, and there are no indications of reaching a compromise.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken considered it still possible to reach a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas and release the detainees.

Media reports indicated that Hamas offered a proposal to release all Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails who were detained up to the day of signing the deal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected this request.
