Unveiling the Enigma: Understanding the Martyrdom of 6,000 Al-Qassam Fighters in Gaza
Watan-Hamas leader Mohammed Nazal revealed the reason why his movement hasn’t announced the numbers of martyrs from the fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades who were killed during the Israeli war on Gaza since October 7th until today, amid reports denied by the movement about 6,000 fighters from Al-Qassam being martyred.
Nazal stated that the field leadership of the Al-Qassam Brigades is the one who knows the number of martyrs and the wounded, and their policy is clear: they don’t give the occupation free information, and the movement isn’t concerned with specifying the numbers and names of martyrs and wounded from the resistance.
He emphasized in televised statements followed by Watan that the occupation is pursuing the families of martyrs and the wounded from the fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades, killing them, and monitoring phone calls between the fighters and their families.

Mohammed Nazal considered this issue a national security policy for the Hamas movement, indicating that the field leadership, after the end of the war, may announce the numbers of martyrs and wounded from the resistance.
The Hamas leader reassured the Palestinian public opinion that most of the members of the brigades are still alive and fighting the occupation army, and they have two options: either victory or martyrdom.
The truth about the martyrdom of 6,000 fighters from Al-Qassam
Regarding the reality of the martyrdom of 6,000 fighters from Al-Qassam, earlier on Monday, Reuters quoted a Hamas official (without mentioning his name) as saying, “The estimates of the movement indicate that it lost 6,000 fighters during the ongoing conflict for four months, half the number that Israel claims it has killed, which is 12,000.”
In response, a member of the political bureau of the movement, Ezzat al-Rishq, said in a brief statement, “There is no truth to what was reported by Reuters attributed to a leader in Hamas about the numbers of martyrs from the Al-Qassam Brigades during the fighting against the occupation army.”
On the 136th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the occupation continued to shell several areas in the sector, committing several massacres, while the number of martyrs since the beginning of the war rose to about 29,000 martyrs.

In contrast, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced that it targeted an Israeli force of 15 soldiers entrenched in a house west of Khan Yunis, killing and injuring some of its members.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also announced the sniper of two Israeli soldiers and clashes with an infantry force, resulting in one killed and one injured in the Hope neighborhood west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.
The Al-Qassam Brigades presented documentation of an operation carried out in cooperation with the Mujahideen Brigades, showing the targeting of a Hermes 900 reconnaissance plane with a Sam 7 missile southwest of Gaza City.
