Hamas Warns of Imminent Escalation Over Al-Aqsa Restrictions

Watan-The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, warned that an explosion is imminent against the Israeli occupation in response to any restrictions on Muslims entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem during the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Hamas issued the warning in a statement by Azat al-Rishq, a member of the movement’s political bureau, in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approval of a recommendation by the extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to restrict and limit the entry of Palestinians from Jerusalem and the interior (lands within the 1948 borders) to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.

Al-Rishq said, “The explosion is coming against the occupation in response to any restrictions on Muslims entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.”

Regarding the situation in Gaza, Al-Rishq stated, “We warn the occupation against any adventure to invade the city of Rafah (southern Gaza Strip) and commit massacres and genocide.”

He emphasized that the victory Netanyahu seeks is an illusion and only exists in his imagination, saying, “Netanyahu lies to everyone and deceives the families of prisoners by claiming the possibility of liberating them by force, and time is running out.”

It is worth noting that the Israeli official broadcasting authority reported that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) had warned the political level that preventing Palestinians inside Israel from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan could lead to major disturbances.

The Shin Bet stated that the escalation of the situation in Jerusalem and Israel would be more dangerous than the escalation of the situation in the West Bank.

Since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli police have imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers from all areas to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially on Fridays.
