Watan-An Israeli soldier was killed and eight others were injured, including critical cases, in a shooting near the Ma’ale Adumim settlement east of Jerusalem.
The Israeli army radio reported that nine soldiers were injured, including 3 in critical condition, in a shooting at a military checkpoint east of Jerusalem, before announcing the death of one of the soldiers.
According to the Israeli police, the attackers were shot dead near Ma’ale Adumim.
Preliminary information suggests that two Palestinian gunmen opened fire and attacked Israeli soldiers at a military checkpoint near the village of Al-Za’im, near a traffic interchange leading to the Ma’ale Adumim settlement.
A call to stay indoors
Israeli media quoted the Ma’ale Adumim municipality urging residents to stay indoors after suspicion of a third armed individual.
The occupation army quickly deployed reinforcements to the area and closed the road, which is an extension of Highway 1, stretching from Tel Aviv to areas beyond the northern Dead Sea.
