According to Maariv newspaper, Sarhan was arrested inside Syrian territory by Israeli forces in the village of Al-Rafeed in the Quneitra Governorate.

Reports, also mentioned by Israeli press, indicate that Sarhan fled to Israel across the border.

Escape or abduction?

The arrest of an official in the Syrian regime came less than one day after an Israeli airstrike on the Kafr Sousa neighborhood in central Damascus, which resulted in the death of two people.
