Watan-The process of aerial aid drops to Gaza Strip has become noteworthy amid the catastrophic conditions in the area due to the brutal Israeli war on the Strip.

In the latest scenes, aircraft carried out aerial drops of food aid to Gaza City and the northern part of the Strip for the first time since the start of the Israeli war last October.

Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses reported that aircraft flew over Gaza City and the northern Strip and conducted drops of food aid, according to the German news agency.

The sources stated that unidentified aircraft dropped boxes of food aid via parachutes in the “Unknown Soldier” square west of Gaza City.

They added that the aircraft dropped a second shipment in agricultural land near the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia town in the northern Strip.

The aid, dropped by the aircraft despite their limitations, included rice, beans, and pasta, according to the sources.

U.S. participation in aerial drops

In a related context, U.S. officials confirmed that the White House is considering the possibility of conducting aerial aid drops to deliver humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip due to the difficulty of access via land routes.

The American website “Axios” quoted four officials from President Joe Biden’s administration as saying that the White House is considering dropping aid from U.S. military aircraft to Gaza, as delivery operations via land have become increasingly challenging.

One official said, “The situation is really bad… We cannot deliver enough aid by trucks (to Gaza) so we need desperate measures like aerial drops.”

The U.S. official explained that the Biden administration was skeptical of such an idea early in the war but gradually supported it, as humanitarian organizations found it difficult to deliver aid to northern Gaza via land due to the security situation and Israeli restrictions.

Emergency Relief Aerial Drop

Officials emphasized that aerial drop operations could provide some emergency relief, but the only way to transport the required amount of aid to Gaza is through land routes.

Officials stressed that the Biden administration still sees increasing the number of daily land-based aid deliveries as a top priority.
