Houthi Leader Threatens ‘Military Surprises’ in Red Sea: Abdul Malik al-Houthi’s Warning Sparks Regional Tensions

Watan-The leader of the Houthi group, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, has threatened that his group will cause “military surprises and unexpected actions” in its operations in the Red Sea.

This comes after days of the Houthi group targeting the “Ruby Star” ship, which was carrying large quantities of “ammonia” and oils, and leaked amounts of oils along 18 miles in the Red Sea.

Abdul Malik al-Houthi said in a new speech on Thursday, regarding the latest developments of the battle of “The Greatest Flood” in the Palestinian arena, and the crimes of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, that his group’s elements targeted 54 ships in the Red Sea since the beginning of the operations.

Al-Houthi also indicated that 384 is the total number of missiles and drones launched at the ships in the Red Sea.

New statements from Abdul Malik al-Houthi

He affirmed, “We embark on our movement towards the oppression of the Palestinian people and the tragedy of Gaza from the standpoint of religious belonging and we embark on our movement with Palestine from awareness of the nature of the conflict and understanding the enemy and that we are part of this battle,” according to his description.

Al-Houthi also mentioned that his group’s operations since its inception until today are effective, influential, and continuous operations, “and the comprehensive movement of our dear people embodies the religious belonging and sincerity with God and the actual translation of the values and ethics it possesses,” according to his speech.

He also stressed that the American and British ships received painful and staggering blows, explaining that “the total number of missiles and drones reached 384 in the operations targeting the enemies.”

Abdul Malik al-Houthi emphasized that “the enemy’s airstrikes and shelling did not affect the military capabilities of our country, and the escalation path continues, and the development path continues, and the Americans and the British have realized that.”

“A big surprise is coming”

He continued: “Our operations will continue more effectively in the Red Sea and with development, and we have a big surprise that the enemies do not expect, and we will start it indeed.”

He explained that their statements acknowledged their failure to destroy the capabilities of our country or to mitigate the impact of these capabilities or their momentum. Al-Houthi continued, “The enemies expressed astonishment and amazement at the military capabilities of our country and the use of some weapons for the first time against ships at sea.”

Since the start of the Israeli war in Gaza, tensions have escalated on several fronts in the region, and this tension has also spread to the Red Sea.

The Houthis say their attacks aim to show support for the Palestinians against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The attacks have led many shipping companies to stop using the vital waterway in the Red Sea, which represents about 12% of global maritime trade.
