Hamas on the communication of clans in Gaza with the occupation: Betrayal we will not allow

Watan-A security official in the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas stated that accepting communication with the Israeli occupation by elders and clans to operate in the Gaza Strip is “a national betrayal that we will not allow,” according to his description.

This warning came in the wake of discussions about Israeli intentions to divide the Gaza Strip into zones, with clans and families taking responsibility for those areas, especially in the distribution of aid.

In statements attributed to a security source in Gaza, circulated by media outlets, it was mentioned that “the leadership of the resistance will strike with an iron hand anyone who interferes with the internal front in the Gaza Strip and will not allow the imposition of new rules.”

The security official in Hamas considered that “any attempts to undermine security and stability in the Gaza Strip will fail, and we will not allow it.”

History will not forgive

The source added, “The resistance will not allow the Israeli enemy to compensate for its losses on the battlefield through political maneuvers within the Gaza Strip.”

He pointed out that “the attempt by the occupation to communicate with the elders and clans of some families to work within the Gaza Strip is considered a direct collaboration with the occupation and is a national betrayal that we will not allow.”

He said, “History will not forgive anyone who deals with the occupation during the Gaza war.”

Clans in Gaza

Israeli channel “Kan” had revealed last January a plan by the Israeli occupation army to divide Gaza into regions controlled by clans, responsible for distributing humanitarian aid in those areas.

According to the same source, “the sector will be divided into regions and districts, where each clan will control a district and be responsible for distributing humanitarian aid,” noting that “these clans, known to the army and the General Security Service (Shin Bet), will manage civilian life in Gaza for a temporary period (without specifying the duration).”

In the same context, the Director-General of the Media Office in Gaza, Ismail Al-Thawabteh, revealed in a tweet on his former “X”-Twitter account, monitored by “Watan,” that international parties, at the direction of Israel, held up to 12 meetings with elders and clans in the Gaza Strip, as part of their efforts to find an administration for the Gaza Strip after the war.

He added that “all the families that were approached have completely rejected this offer, considering it a rejection of the occupation’s plans aimed at striking the Palestinian internal front.”
