Watan-In his speech this evening, on Sunday, on the occasion of the advent of the holy month, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, affirmed that Israel is evading the logical obligation regarding the issue of prisoner exchange.

Haniyeh stated that Israel is responsible for the lack of an agreement and that the movement is open to reaching an agreement that upholds the principles guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people.

In his address, Haniyeh continued, “The malicious criminal enemy continues the crime of the century, in which he wrote with his own hand his death certificate as an occupier, and he will be held accountable for it no matter how long or short the time is. Gaza, you remain patient and steadfast in the face of massacres, slaughters, hunger, displacement, and you tell them that we are seekers of freedom and dignity.”

He added, regarding the ceasefire negotiations, “I want to clarify to our people in general, our nation, the free people of the world, and all our people in Gaza that from the beginning, we have taken this negotiating path through the mediator brothers in Qatar and Egypt, and we have set several conditions to reach an agreement, the most important of which is that we want an agreement leading to a ceasefire.”

Haniyeh emphasized that the occupation wants to stay in the axis of martyrs and divide the Gaza Strip in half, indicating that if the movement receives a clear position on stopping the aggression and the return of the displaced, it will show flexibility on the issue of prisoners.

Establishment of the Palestinian State with its capital in Jerusalem

About the Battle of the Aqsa Flood, Ismail Haniyeh said, “October 7th is a pivotal historic day in the life of the Palestinian cause and a strategic turning point in the conflict with the Zionist enemy.”

He stated that on October 7th, the Palestinian issue returned to the forefront of the world stage in line with its political and humanitarian dimensions and its sacred centrality, after colonial powers attempted to relegate it to oblivion and the margins of history.

Haniyeh also emphasized that Israel has failed in all its plans in the Gaza Strip, confirming that it has not recovered any of its captives and will not recover them without an agreement, despite all the massacres committed in Gaza.

According to Haniyeh, Hamas closely monitors the arrangements of the Palestinian internal situation, and he also emphasized that the resistance presented a political approach to end the Zionist occupation in the West Bank and Gaza, and to establish the Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem.

He mentioned, “Our movement, over the past months, has moved through the front line led by the resistance factions, foremost among them the Al-Qassam Brigades, defending its people on all fronts of the battle on every inch and in every street of our beloved Gaza, recording glorious pages in the history of the resistance of this people and its successive uprisings and revolutions.”

He continued, “Ramadan is peace for Gaza, which continues to paint the picture of freedom and honor for Palestine with the blood of its sons and daughters, and to fence off Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem with the souls of its youth, women, men, children, tents, displacement, and hunger.”

It is worth mentioning that on the 156th day of its war on the Gaza Strip, the occupation army continued its intensive shelling of cities and towns throughout the northern, central, and southern parts of the Strip, causing dozens of casualties between martyrs and wounded, according to the Gaza Government Media Office, with 90% of the besieged sector’s residents becoming displaced.
