Sheikh of Al-Azhar’s Concern: Lack of Educational Resources on the Palestinian Issue

Watan-In response to the ongoing events in the besieged Gaza Strip, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in Egypt, criticized the absence of “a single book” in the educational stages in the Arab world that explains the Palestinian issue to students.

Speaking during his Ramadan program with the host Mohammed Saeed on “DMC” channel, Sheikh Al-Azhar talked about the victor and the vanquished in the Gaza war.

Sheikh Al-Azhar speaks about the Palestinian issue

Sheikh Al-Azhar speaks about the Palestinian issue, stating: “Matters have beginnings and consequences, and the consequences may differ fundamentally from the philosophy of the beginnings. We witness daily hundreds of deaths of children and women, and many operations carried out without anesthesia, aimed at causing pain in the souls of Palestinians, where their joy increases as their pain increases.”

Ahmed Al-Tayeb added, condemning the Arab countries’ negligence even in the most basic rights of Palestinians over the nation: “The Palestinian cause was almost forgotten because there is no single book in the Arab world that explains the issue to students.”

He continued, “There are many university graduates who do not know the difference between Al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock.”

Sheikh Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, also pointed out that the enemy – the Israeli occupation – teaches its children since childhood that Palestine is its land and that the Palestinian people are its enemy, but we do not have such a thing.

Al-Tayeb elaborated, “If anyone does this, he will not find anyone to encourage him to continue in this way.”

It is worth mentioning that on the 158th day of the war on Gaza and the second day of the blessed month of Ramadan, the Israeli occupation army continued its raids on various areas of the sector, causing casualties and injuries.

New deaths were also recorded due to the ongoing Israeli starvation campaign.
