Watan-The Israeli police announced that two soldiers were injured in a stabbing operation at the Tunnel Checkpoint south of Jerusalem.

Israeli media reported that the perpetrator of the operation arrived at the checkpoint on an electric bicycle, then dismounted and carried out the stabbing before the Israeli soldiers opened fire on him.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation quoted medical sources as saying that the wounded were transferred to a hospital in Jerusalem, with one of them in moderate condition. Large police forces were called to the scene of the incident.

The two injured in the attack are a male and a female soldier, with their injuries ranging from moderate to light.

The stabbing took place at the Tunnel Checkpoint, located on a bypass road connecting the cities of Jerusalem and Hebron, with the occupation forces firing at the assailant.

Palestinian sources reported that the assailant was from the town of Al-Khader in the southern governorate of Bethlehem and is 15 years old.
