Watan-The Israeli media revealed a serious security incident in the “Zikim” settlement after a military force of the resistance, from the human frog unit of the Al-Qassam Brigades, managed to infiltrate through the sea into the settlement within the Gaza envelope.
The Israeli army declared a state of alert after detecting the infiltration operation, and the security situation is still ongoing according to Israeli reports on Wednesday.
This comes after about 5 months since a similar operation was carried out by the Palestinian resistance, as reported by Palestinian media last October, where the “Al-Qassam Frogs” succeeded in surprising the Israeli occupation and infiltrating by sea to the shores of “Zikim”, south of the occupied city of Ashkelon, and carried out a qualitative operation in the Israeli military base of “Zikim” via the sea.
Infiltration of Al-Qassam Frogs into Zikim Settlement
According to the Israeli army radio, in the new operation, Palestinian divers heading from the Gaza Strip beaches towards settlements near the Gaza Strip were monitored before they withdrew after being fired upon without being harmed.
The Hebrew newspaper “Maariv,” citing the Israeli army, stated that “two suspects wearing diving equipment violated security instructions, and naval forces fired at them from a distance – and they returned to the permitted area.”
According to the newspaper, there has been no infiltration of this kind since October 7th last year, and no unusual incidents or attempts to carry out attacks by sea have been recorded.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, have attacked Israeli sites on the coastal strip north of the Gaza Strip more than once using marine commando groups. Meanwhile, the occupation forces remained silent about their losses.
The most prominent of these attacks was the one that targeted the Zikim site on October 7th last year when commando groups affiliated with the resistance attacked fortifications and surveillance sites belonging to the occupation, coinciding with the major assault and the “Aqsa Flood” operation.
