Former Shin Bet Chief’s Startling Revelation: ‘If I Were Palestinian, I Would Fight Israel for Freedom
Confessions of Former Shin Bet Chief

Watan-In surprising and unexpected statements, former Israeli Shin Bet chief “Ami Ayalon” said, “If I were Palestinian, I would fight Israel for my freedom.”

This comes as a sign of the growing frustration within Israeli society due to Netanyahu’s policies.

During an interview with Al Jazeera English on March 11, 2024, when asked about his assessment of the situation faced by Palestinians, the former Israeli Shin Bet chief said that Palestinians dream of freedom but do not achieve it.

He added: “Whether we admit it or not, we control the lives of millions.”

When asked what his opinion would be of Israel if he were a Palestinian living in the West Bank or Gaza, Ayalon responded: “I would fight Israel for my freedom,” explaining that he would do everything in his power to achieve his freedom, nothing more and nothing less.

Regarding the influence of extremists “Ben Gvir” and “Smotrich” and his opinion of them, the former Israeli security official indicated that they are terrorists and represent only a small minority in Israeli society, but they wield influence due to the alliance system.

Ami Ayalon, born on June 27, 1945, is an Israeli security and political officer who served as commander of the Navy, commander of the Thirteenth Fleet, the tenth head of the Shin Bet, and a member of the Knesset.

According to a report by the Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz” last January, “Ami Ayalon” has refused to comment on the course of battles in Gaza and on the northern borders since October 7, over the past three months.

He also refrained from discussing Houthi attacks from Yemen and the Red Sea, areas he knows well since he was commander of the Thirteenth Fleet (Naval Commandos) and later commander of the Navy.

He mentioned that he left the army about 30 years ago and the general security apparatus about 24 years ago.
