Queen Rania Faces Backlash for Gaza Solidarity: Israeli Newspaper Alleges Divorce Demands and Financial Excess
An Israeli newspaper launches an attack on Queen Rania for her solidarity with Gaza

Watan-An Israeli newspaper launched a scathing attack on Queen Rania Abdullah, the wife of Jordan’s King Abdullah II, following her statements condemning the crimes committed by the occupation in the Gaza Strip.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, through its website, claimed that there have been changes in Queen Rania’s relationship with the Jordanian people.

The newspaper alleged that Queen Rania has remained an unpopular figure in her country for years, at the very least, and if such a statement was made, it was confined to closed circles.

It claimed that tribal elders loyal to her husband, King Abdullah, urged him to divorce his wife, of Palestinian origin, and marry “one of them” from their own backgrounds.

The newspaper stated that criticisms have targeted Queen Rania for her extravagance, her wardrobe filled with luxurious clothing, and the private plane she uses to travel to Beirut for laundering royal garments.

It alleged that there are claims of large financial transfers finding their way into the bank accounts of the queen’s brother, while the standard of living for millions of citizens in the kingdom deteriorates.

The newspaper mentioned that something has changed in people’s perception of Queen Rania over the past few months due to the repercussions of the war on the Gaza Strip, after she strongly condemned the Israeli occupation, which boosted her popularity on social media, according to the report.

Queen Rania speaks about massacres against Palestinians

Queen Rania spoke out about massacres against Palestinians and sharply criticized Israel for the massacres it commits in Gaza.

Queen Rania is very active on social media networks, with around 10 million followers on her Instagram account and a similar number on X (formerly Twitter).

In her interviews with international media, Queen Rania addresses the main headlines of the ongoing war, always emphasizing that all the inhabitants of Gaza currently lack electricity, water, and food, and she says that the Israeli atrocities must stop, the war must end, and progress towards a two-state solution must be made.

The newspaper observed that it has become clear that there is a rise in Queen Rania’s status and sympathy towards her as the humanitarian voice of the royal family, especially since her husband remains committed to diplomatic rules in expressing himself.
