Watan-A video clip has been circulating, showing a Palestinian child taking a shocking action to express the dire situation of famine in Gaza Strip due to the Israeli war and the imposed blockade.
The Palestinian child climbed an electric pole a few meters away from the Egyptian border, seemingly without concern for the potential danger to his life or others, explaining his action as an attempt to do anything to feed his siblings.
The child screamed at the Egyptian soldiers, saying, “We want to eat, we need something to eat… What is this?”
Gaza suffers from catastrophic conditions, with worsening living conditions, specifically famine caused by the blockade imposed on the strip, as part of the brutal war waged by the Israeli occupation army.
While the situation is dire throughout Gaza, it worsens significantly in the northern areas of the strip.
Criticism against Egypt’s role
Large numbers of Egyptian trucks line up at the border with Gaza, while Cairo, acknowledging that aid is not being adequately allowed in, claims that deliberate Israeli restrictions are causing delays in delivering aid to the strip.
However, Egypt has not been spared severe criticism, with direct accusations of participation in the siege and starvation of Palestinians by failing to push aid through despite Israeli obstacles.

Gaza’s children endure tragedy
In a stark documentation of the catastrophe, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) mentioned that one in every three children under the age of two in northern Gaza currently suffers from severe malnutrition, warning that famine looms on the horizon.
The UN agency stated that child malnutrition is rapidly expanding and will reach unprecedented levels in Gaza, noting that hospitals there report some children dying from malnutrition and dehydration.
Imminent famine in Gaza There is a state of anticipation for the International Food Security Monitoring Agency to soon provide a report on the extent of the hunger crisis in Gaza.
This comes after earlier warnings in December of an expected famine in May.
