Iraqi Woman’s Tearful Prayer for Gaza: A Heartfelt Plea Amidst Crisis

Watan-Activists on social media platforms have been circulating a video of an elderly Iraqi woman breaking down in tears at the breakfast table, praying for relief and victory for the people of Gaza.

In the video, the elderly woman is seen saying, “Oh God, the people of Gaza are dying of hunger, what is the fault of the children to die of hunger?”

She adds, “We have everything on our table, but they cannot find a loaf of bread like other people.”

The Iraqi woman continues tearfully, “May God have mercy on them, may God, the wealthy who can help them, show them mercy.”

With her hands raised to the sky, she says, “Oh God, at this moment, heal every sick person, support the oppressed, and satisfy the hungry.”

She further prays, “Accept our prayers, O God, and grant everyone their wish, O Lord.”

“We all cried for Gaza and its people.”

Social media users, especially on Twitter, reacted to the sincere prayers and empathy of the Iraqi woman towards the people of Gaza, who are facing death, hunger, and displacement.

In this context, the account “Kada Gazawi” said: “We all cried for Gaza and its people… What is happening to them breaks the heart… But freedom has a price, and victory is also the ally of the patient.”

“Abu Hamza” commented, “This is what was captured and filmed… There are millions of mothers shedding tears and their hearts burning with sorrow for our people in Gaza. We ask God to relieve their suffering and hasten their victory.”

“Tareq Al-Mandoud” said, “At the breakfast table… an Iraqi elderly woman prays for Gaza with tears amidst the famine experienced by the residents of the enclave.”

Despite the arrival of the month of Ramadan, Israel continues its destructive war on the Gaza Strip since October 7th last year, resulting in tens of thousands of civilian casualties, mostly children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction.
