Naguib Sawiris Challenges Pompeo’s Call for a Palestinian State Post-Gaza War
Watan-Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris responded to a tweet by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in which the latter spoke about demands for the establishment of a Palestinian state after the Gaza war on October 7th last year.
Sawiris responded to Mike Pompeo’s tweet on his Ax (formerly Twitter) account, stating that “establishing a Palestinian state in response to the massacre of October 7th would be a clear reward for terrorism.”
The Egyptian businessman commented in English, saying: “What about before October 7th… was there hope for a Palestinian state??”

This comes as the Israeli occupation continues its war against Hamas inside Gaza, which has led to the deaths of 31,553 people and the injury of 73,546 others within the sector since October 7th.
A report issued by an initiative of non-governmental organizations, governments, and UN agencies warned that famine would spread in northern Gaza between mid-March and May.
In the south, the governorates of Deir al-Balah, Khan Yunis, and Rafah have all entered the fourth stage or “emergency stage,” and in the worst-case scenarios, they will face “the danger of famine in July 2024,” according to the report.
