Sudanese General Exposes Alleged Emirati Meddling: Mohammed bin Zayed’s Role Unveiled

Watan-Assistant General of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta, once again attacked the United Arab Emirates and its leader Mohammed bin Zayed due to their suspicious role and support for mercenaries in Sudan to control the country’s lands and ports in the service of global Zionism, according to him.

Yasser Al-Atta appeared in a circulated video during a field visit to the state of Sennar – central Sudan – surrounded by a number of officers and soldiers, stating that there is an issue that should be highly focused on, which is why are we fighting the Sudanese army and the entire population in the country?

He added, attacking the Emirati president: “There is a person named Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi, the president of the United Arab Emirates, who aspires to control agricultural lands in Sudan, maritime ports on the Sudanese coast, as well as mineral resources such as gold, diamonds, uranium, iron, copper, and others.”

Criminal Mafia

He elaborated, “To implement this, he either conducted an operation or bought Janjaweed militias and supported them alongside the notorious Russian Wagner mercenaries.”

He further stated, “There is a global criminal mafia in Europe and in the region that participated in this conspiratorial scheme against Sudan.”

According to Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta, the Emirates bought a number of heads of neighboring countries, ministers, and influential figures there with money to support their criminal project. They destroyed Yemen, Syria, and Libya and continued to destroy Somalia. They began the march of destruction in Eritrea and Djibouti, but the brothers in Eritrea and Djibouti – as he said – sensed the danger and responsibility and expelled them.

Suspicious Role of the Emirates

Since the outbreak of armed confrontations in Sudan in mid-April last year, the Emirati role has emerged through supporting the forces of Hemeti (the gold merchant).

Previously, images taken from Hemeti’s page on Facebook were circulated, showing that his account on the site was being managed by three individuals, one of whom is from the United Arab Emirates.

In September 2023, the American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” revealed that the Emirates were providing military support to the Rapid Support Forces, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemeti.

The newspaper said that an Emirati cargo plane landed at an Ugandan airport at the beginning of June last year, confirming that it was carrying weapons and ammunition, at a time when official documents showed that the plane was carrying Emirati humanitarian aid to Sudanese refugees, and the plane was allowed to continue its journey to Am Jiras Airport in eastern Chad.

It added that the Emirates are betting on supporting Hemeti’s forces to protect its interests in Sudan, benefit from its strategic location on the Red Sea and the Nile River, and access the vast Sudanese gold reserves.
