Watan-The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” responded, through a security official within it, to the photos published by the Israeli occupation claiming to have arrested individuals from the Shifa complex in the northern city of Gaza Strip.
The Hamas security official, speaking to Al Jazeera, stated that the list of detainees’ photos at Shifa Hospital issued by the Israeli army spokesperson is “inaccurate,” confirming that some of the photos in the list belong to individuals currently outside Gaza and others are of martyrs.
He added that three of the photos in the list are of doctors who were previously released by the occupation, emphasizing that there is no validity to what the Hebrew media published about the arrest of dozens of resistance leaders at Shifa Hospital.
Occupation’s Claims about Resistance in Shifa Complex
Previously, an Israeli army spokesperson claimed that armed members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad were holed up in the emergency department building of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.
The Israeli army spokesperson published a photo containing dozens of pictures of individuals claimed to have been arrested from inside Shifa Hospital.
The Israeli authorities have been accustomed to promoting these allegations to justify the horrific raids they carry out on the Shifa medical complex.
Destruction of Shifa Complex Facilities
Hamas previously revealed that the Israeli army destroyed many facilities of the Shifa Medical Complex, blew up and burned residential buildings in its vicinity during the operation that entered its fourth day.
The movement condemned the international silence towards what is happening and demanded urgent Arab action.
The movement stated in a statement that the Israeli army continues its aggression on the Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings in Gaza City, pointing out that its destruction of many facilities of the complex, and blowing up and burning the surrounding residential buildings, as well as detaining displaced persons, medical staff, patients, and tormenting them, and recently demanding them to evacuate to the south under the threat of weapons.
Hamas pointed out that the shameful silence towards what the Shifa complex and its besieged inhabitants are subjected to is a stain and a moral failure by the international community and the United Nations, which are unable to stop the Zionist killing machine and pressure Washington to stop its partnership and support for the Zionist Nazi occupation.
The movement called on Arab countries and peoples to urgently act to stop this genocide and systematic destruction of life facilities in the Gaza Strip.
It demanded more solidarity and support for the besieged Palestinian people who have been subjected to heinous crimes at the hands of the new Nazis for nearly six continuous months.
It is worth noting that the Israeli army continues to raid the Shifa complex, which housed more than 7,000 patients and displaced persons.
The Israeli army is carrying out widespread arrests among the displaced inside the hospital and shelling the surrounding homes, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.
