Watan-Hamas has refuted claims made by Hebrew media that Israel is considering a request from Hamas not to assassinate its leaders when they are outside Gaza.

Hamas leader Azat al-Rishq stated in a statement that the Hebrew media is ridiculous, based on lies and black propaganda.

He added that the claims made by Hebrew media about Israel considering Hamas’s request not to assassinate its leaders when they are outside Gaza are cheap and trivial propaganda that insults people’s intelligence.

Al-Rishq continued: “Hamas leaders are steadfast on their land with their people, resisting, either achieving victory or martyrdom, while the leaders of the criminal enemy will eventually leave this land.”

Israeli allegations regarding a request from Hamas

Israeli broadcasting claimed that Tel Aviv is considering a request from Hamas to refrain from assassinating senior officials of the movement if they are outside Gaza.

The official Israeli body claimed that this alleged request came within the framework of a deal that includes evacuating the sector from weapons, the return of prisoners, and the withdrawal of the occupation army from Gaza.

The body stated that the proposal was promoted by the United States as part of the next stage of a deal to release 40 prisoners in exchange for a six-week ceasefire.

In a related context, an Israeli official mentioned gaps in the ongoing negotiations in Qatar regarding a prisoner exchange deal.

American Proposal

He added that the United States had proposed a compromise that Tel Aviv had agreed to, but was awaiting Hamas’s response.

According to the Israeli official, the US proposal includes “Tel Aviv’s commitment not to assassinate senior Hamas leaders if they are outside the Gaza Strip, in exchange for an agreement that includes disarming the sector and the release of all prisoners held in Gaza.”

He also added that the proposal includes the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.
