Denial and Disbelief: Palestinian Writer Challenges Allegations of Rape by Israeli Forces in Gaza
Watan-The journalist and well-known Palestinian writer Yasser al-Zaatra dismissed allegations of the rape of a woman in front of her husband and relatives by the Israeli occupation forces inside the Gaza Strip, affirming that the occupation soldiers are too cowardly to do such a thing.
In a tweet on the “X” platform, al-Zaatra stated about the circulating rape story (in Gaza): “The circulating story about the rape of a woman in front of her husband and relatives in Gaza cannot be true, as it involves an insult to our people.”
The Palestinian politician added: “The invaders’ soldiers cannot harm one of our women who are alive; she will devour them with her teeth even if they cut her into pieces.”
He continued: “Likewise, it cannot happen when there are men with pulsing veins among us, even if they were threatened with a thousand rifles.”
Yasser al-Zaatra: “A story detrimental to our people.”
The Palestinian writer Yasser al-Zaatra continued: “Their soldiers are lowly and criminals, but they are more cowardly than to do such a thing because they know the nature of our women and men.”
He further commented on allegations of the rape of a Palestinian woman in front of her husband and relatives: “This story and similar ones are detrimental to our people, our women, and our men, even if the promoters think they are serving our cause.”
The Palestinian analyst Yasser al-Zaatra concluded: “I will refrain from commenting further to avoid escalating the debate about the story, as this is the conclusion that I have no doubt about its accuracy after four decades of following the chapters of this conflict in all its details.”
What is the story of the shocking rape novel?
Palestinian activists had circulated a shocking story about the rape of a pregnant woman by Israeli occupation soldiers at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.
Activists quoted the husband of a woman who was raped by occupation soldiers as saying: “They ordered her to undress and began beating her… She told the army that she was five months pregnant, not to beat her, but they continued to beat her.”
The allegations added: “After hours, they took out all the women except the pregnant woman and her children… They raped her in front of her husband and children and ordered the men not to close their eyes, or they would be shot.”
The Israeli occupation army continues for the seventh consecutive day to raid the Shifa Hospital, while it has started to raid two other hospitals, Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis and Al-Nasser Hospital in Gaza City.
