Watan-Social media users circulated a video clip showing the moment a bridge collapsed after being struck by a ship in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, on the eastern coast of the United States.

The video documented the collapse of most parts of a massive bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, on the east coast of America, in the early hours of Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

The incident occurred due to a large ship colliding with the bridge, according to widely circulated footage on various platforms including “X” platform.

The ship appeared as it collided with one of the columns of the “Francis Scott Key” bridge, causing complete destruction to parts of it.

What is the nature of the damage?

Sources explained that dive and rescue teams moved to the scene to search for them under the bridge, which was opened in 1977 and is 3 kilometers long.

According to the ship tracking website “Marine Traffic,” a container ship flying the flag of Singapore named “Dali” stopped under the bridge early today.
