Israeli Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jewish Passover with Heavy Police Protection
Around 400 Israeli settlers invade the holy site, performing provocative rituals and facing restrictions on Muslim worshippers, while Israeli forces heighten security across Jerusalem.
Watan-Palestinian sources reported that “around 400 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police.”
According to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), the settlers entered the mosque compound through the Moroccan Gate in groups, performed Talmudic rituals, and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards on the third day of the Jewish Passover holiday.
The sources stated that “one of the settlers was seen wearing special prayer garments in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa, while others were dancing and singing near the Lions’ Gate (Bab al-Asbat), where hundreds gathered waiting for access to be facilitated for storming Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The sources also indicated that “Israeli police imposed strict restrictions on Muslim worshippers entering the mosque, checking their IDs and holding some at the external gates.”
Furthermore, “Israeli police turned the city of Jerusalem and its Old City into a military zone, deploying thousands of officers and special units throughout the streets and alleys to secure the settlers’ storming and provocations.”
