Watan-Alaa Mubarak, the son of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, criticized statements made by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump, regarding Gaza. He described Kushner’s remarks about the necessity of transferring Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt as despicable, questioning, “As if it’s his father’s land.”
Mubarak shared a video from CNN featuring a member of the US Congress strongly criticizing Kushner’s statements about Gaza during a seminar at Harvard University in early March 2024. The congressman stated that talking about establishing a Palestinian state would be a reward for the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

Alaa described those statements as shocking and provocative, saying, “A shocking and provocative statement that ignites emotions and ignores the rights of the Palestinian people, far from achieving a peaceful and just solution that ensures security, peace, and stability for the region.”

He continued to attack Kushner, adding, “The words of a political adolescent when he speaks that the idea of establishing a Palestinian state is a bad idea and that the coastal strip in Gaza is an investment opportunity!
Despicable statements came amidst the killings, destruction, and genocide perpetrated by the occupation forces against the Palestinians before an international community paralyzed and incapable of stopping these massacres.”
Mubarak pointed out the criticism from the US congressman, a Democratic representative from Virginia, describing Kushner’s statement as “grotesque beyond imagination and racial cleansing at its worst.”
The American congressman mentioned Kushner’s talk about “exploiting the coastline in Gaza as if it were a piece of land in an American state he wants to develop, while there are 31,000 Palestinians killed, which is disgusting and goes beyond contempt.”
The Israeli occupation continues its brutal war against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, despite the issuance of a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire during Ramadan. This comes despite the appearance of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
