Watan-Pressure is mounting within Israel from the families of Israeli prisoners on the Benjamin Netanyahu government, regarding the prisoners’ file, in which the occupation army failed, just as it failed in its other declared objectives of the war on Gaza.
In new developments, the families of the prisoners have escalated their rhetoric against Netanyahu’s government, amid threats of further escalation in the near future.
The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” quoted Israeli prisoners’ families as saying: “Netanyahu is obstructing reaching a deal that would lead to the release of our sons, and we will not stand idly by anymore, and we will not plead with them.”
The families of the prisoners added: “You will see us all over the country and we will burn it because we are tired of your lies.”
Israeli Prisoners’ Families Protests Continuous protests by the families of Israeli prisoners demanding a prisoner exchange deal This unprecedented threat comes alongside the outbreak of the largest and most violent wave of protests against Netanyahu’s government, amid demands for his departure and holding early elections.
The occupation police suppressed the central demonstration in Kaplan Square in downtown Tel Aviv and prevented the families of the prisoners from making statements to the protesters.
Arrests and Closure of Vital Streets While the occupation police arrested 16 people during the protests held in Tel Aviv, the protesters closed several vital streets surrounding Kaplan Square in Tel Aviv.
The protesters also set fire to the square and the street in front of the Ministry of Defense in the city center.
Protest near the “Guilty Netanyahu” House Meanwhile, thousands of Israelis demonstrated near Benjamin Netanyahu’s house in the city of Caesarea, demanding his resignation.
The protesters described Netanyahu as “guilty” and demanded the government to immediately conclude a deal to release the prisoners held in Gaza.
