Hebrew media reveals Bashar's role in the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria

Watan-The Israeli occupation targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in the deaths of three leaders of the Quds Force, while Tehran issued statements threatening retaliation and taking countermeasures.

The bombing targeted the Iranian consulate building near the “Mezzeh” district in Damascus, with Iran vowing a decisive response to the attack, which killed Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, Brigadier General Hussein Aminollah, and another commander from the Quds Force.

Iran’s official television confirmed the deaths of several Iranian diplomats in the Israeli strike. The French news agency quoted Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Hossein Akbari as saying that the attack on the Iranian consulate was carried out with 6 missiles fired by “F-35” fighter jets.

The Iranian ambassador mentioned that the attack resulted in 7 casualties, including 3 military personnel, adding in a statement to the press that “this act will lead to a decisive response from us (Iran and its militias).”

According to the Syrian regime’s SANA news agency, the attack resulted in the complete destruction of the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, with everyone inside killed or injured. Iranian media outlets reported that the Iranian ambassador and his family were unharmed in the attack.

Israeli media reveals Bashar al-Assad’s involvement in the attack

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Iran has no sovereignty in Damascus, adding that the operation was based on precise intelligence, indicating the involvement of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in the recent targeting.

However, the Iranian Foreign Ministry did not comment on the Israeli Broadcasting Authority’s report, stating that the attack on the consulate was hostile and a violation of international law, calling on the United Nations to take action.

The Iranian statement clarified that Tehran is studying the dimensions of the attack and holds Israel responsible for its consequences, while reserving its right to take countermeasures against the attack and determining the type of response and form of punishment.

Previous attack

Last Sunday, two people were injured in Israeli airstrikes believed to have targeted the outskirts of Damascus.

The Syrian regime’s Ministry of Defense stated that Israeli missiles were launched from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and targeted several points in the vicinity of the Syrian capital.

In a previous Israeli attack, violent strikes targeted areas where Iran was present in the countryside of Aleppo, resulting in the deaths of more than 40 people, including fighters from Hezbollah, Iran’s affiliated party.
