Watan-Al Jazeera correspondent Mohammed Shuhain suffered three fainting spells due to the horror of the scenes left by the massacres committed by the occupation forces at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, northern Gaza Strip.
Shuhain stated that what happened at Al-Shifa Complex and its surroundings is a complete crime against humanity and international law.
He added that Al-Shifa Medical Complex was completely destroyed, being the largest medical complex in Palestine, explaining that the building that wasn’t destroyed was fully burned along with its medical equipment and supplies.
He reported that the crimes witnessed at Al-Shifa Complex surpassed imagination, mentioning that he fainted three times within hours due to the horror of the scenes at the complex and its surroundings.

Regarding the martyrs and their bodies, he confirmed that the information provided by the locals hardly mentions the magnitude of the reality witnessed on the ground.
The Al Jazeera correspondent pointed out that these scenes cannot be imagined, with the spread of martyrs’ bodies in the streets, while medical crews were unable to retrieve them.
He noted that many families were searching for the bodies of their loved ones among the decomposing corpses, while many bodies buried by the occupation bulldozers lie beneath piles of sand in the complex’s courtyard.
Shuhain emphasized that the locals are digging with their own hands to retrieve these bodies, explaining that Al-Shifa Complex, the largest in Gaza and representing the main medical hub in the Strip, is now completely collapsed and unable to operate again.
Severe destruction at Al-Shifa Complex
Israeli forces withdrew from Al-Shifa Medical Complex at dawn on Monday after a siege and a two-week-long invasion.
The scenes following the withdrawal showed massive destruction, with hundreds of bodies found inside the complex and its surrounding area.
The scenes documented the extent of the destruction inflicted upon the medical complex and its surroundings, as well as showing charred bodies of martyrs in the streets and roads surrounding Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and the families searching for their loved ones’ bodies in Al-Shifa Cemetery after it was excavated.
300 martyrs at Al-Shifa Complex
The spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Major Mahmoud Basal, stated that there are about 300 martyrs in Al-Shifa Complex and its surroundings after the withdrawal of the occupation forces, and that Israeli forces executed bound civilians.
He added that Israeli forces burned sections of Al-Shifa Hospital and destroyed all medical equipment and supplies.
