Watan-Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has threatened with a similar bombardment that could target any country in the Middle East working against the occupation, referring to the recent attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Galant stated during a meeting with members of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Knesset: “We are in a multi-arena war, both offensive and defensive,” after presenting an operational review and reviewing the work in the Gaza Strip and the issue of hostage release.
The occupation official spoke about receiving evidence of increasing hostility against Israel in various parts of the Middle East and Israel’s efforts to prevent the strengthening of its enemies, reiterating: “The cost of acting against us will be high,” as reported by the now14 website and translated by Watan.
5 Arab countries threatened
Galant did not specify the countries that could be targeted, but media sources pointed to the Houthi group in Yemen and Iraqi factions and militias affiliated with Iran in Iraq, while sources referred to the alleged statement circulated about the recruitment of an armed group in Jordan, which has been witnessing angry protests against the occupation and the siege of Gaza.
Accounts on the X platform shared a statement talking about the recruitment of the Iraqi Hezbollah party for an armed organization and its dispatching coinciding with the human flood that caused a major crisis for the Jordanian King Abdullah II, Israel, the UAE, and the countries supporting the Zionist occupation.
A statement attributed to the Iranian-affiliated party stated: “The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has prepared its fighters to equip the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Jordan.”
The alleged statement added: “The Iranian-affiliated party has prepared what satisfies the need for 12,000 fighters with light and medium weapons and tons of explosives.”
Observers confirmed the seriousness of this statement, at a time when popular protests in Jordan have had a positive impact on those besieged in Gaza and put greater pressure on the Israeli occupation and its ally, the Jordanian King Abdullah II.
As for the fourth country, it is Syria, where Israeli airstrikes continue unabated, and the fifth is Lebanon, where Israel may escalate the battle, as it constantly prepares itself on the northern borders of the occupied Palestinian territories in anticipation of any Iranian response through the Lebanese Hezbollah.
