Watan-A retired Israeli officer warned of what he described as “the road to the abyss” that Israel will reach due to the reckless policies of the occupation government’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the confusion of the occupying army.
Retired General and military expert Isaac Brick, dubbed the “prophet of rage” for his prediction of the “Al-Aqsa storm,” wrote an article in Haaretz titled “Netanyahu and the Army are leading us to the abyss.”
He stated that Israel stands at a decisive crossroads today, and the consequences of its actions (or neglect) will decide its fate, whether it will exist or not.
He added, “Unfortunately, the direction is against us. If the people of Israel do not stand up, and if they do not act as ‘sovereigns’ – as he put it – to make a change to replace the political and military leadership that is scorned, then we simply will not be able to survive here.”
He further criticized Netanyahu and his statements, saying that the empty slogan “absolute destruction of Hamas,” upon which the political and security levels are leading the war, will lead to the loss of prisoners, military achievements in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli economy, and the security of friendly countries in the world, and the strategic security of the state, as he described it.
Wars are not won with airplanes
Brick had said in an interview with the Hebrew newspaper Maariv, published last October, that Netanyahu had imagined that the main threat was the Iranian nuclear weapon. He was preoccupied with this issue day and night only.
He added, “He did not understand that wars are not won with airplanes, but with cooperation between the ground and the air.”
He concluded, “How can you survive this way when no one is thinking about the future?”
