Jordan’s Political Parallels: Assessing King Abdullah II’s Regime Amid Claims of Resembling ‘Little Israe
Jordanian monarchy

Watan-The renowned Egyptian historian and politician, Mohamed Elhamy, criticized the Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II bin Hussein, following the incitement of his government spokesperson, Mahend Mubaydeen, against Jordanian protesters and his actions resembling electronic flies on the platform Ex, as well as discussing Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s secret visit to Jordan due to protests supporting Gaza.

Elhamy stated in a post on Ex platform, monitored by (Watan), that “It seems that the failed acting scenes executed by the King of Jordan – referring to the promotional scenes with the armed forces – did not succeed in convincing the people that he is a heroic struggler who confronts planes to send aid.”

He added about King Abdullah: “I don’t think he – no matter what is said to him – would believe he failed in acting, but failed in the policy of acting in the first place. Kings and presidents are not praised for being able to ‘act’ heroic roles, they avoid looking at the camera and send their gazes into the distant horizon as actors do!!”.

Egyptian historian criticizes King Abdullah II

Among the highlights mentioned by the Egyptian researcher Mohamed Elhamy in his tweet about the Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II and electronic flies in Jordan and demonizing protesters supporting Gaza:

  • I couldn’t believe that Mahend Mubaydeen, the Jordanian government spokesperson, descended himself and his position and political status to work as an electronic fly on Ex. He is now searching for every journalistic article written in support of the Jordanian regime, to put a thankful and appreciative comment underneath it.
  • This indicates the level of fear and panic the regime has reached, especially with the genuine uprising of the people towards their slaughtered brothers in Gaza.
  • El-Sisi himself went to Jordan on an unannounced visit, and if El-Sisi went himself, only God knows who else did.
  • The Saudi, Emirati, and Zionist electronic fly campaign indicates a panic that has engulfed the regime.
  • A photo of the English ambassador and his team with the Jordanian Minister of Interior was published… If the English attended, this indicates the seriousness of the situation.

The Egyptian historian and writer Mohamed Elhamy recalled what the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said about Jordan, when he said just a year and a half ago: “I informed King Abdullah that the continuation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a vital necessity for Israel.”

Elhamy commented: “This is a phrase uttered by Netanyahu himself in his published memoirs… and it is sufficient evidence of the nature of the Jordanian regime… This is for those who still need evidence!!”.

Saudi-Jordanian relations are the best evidence

Mohamed Elhamy added, speaking about another evidence of the Jordanian regime’s servitude to the occupation, related to Saudi-Jordanian relations: “If things were proceeding on a straight path, you would see the most hostility between the Saudi and Jordanian regimes, as Ibn Saud expelled Sharif Hussein from the Hejaz.”

He continued: “Hussein was surprised by the English abandoning him after promising him the caliphate, then his pitiful story ended with them drawing borders called the state of Jordan for him, so that his son becomes king over it.”

And he concluded: “It’s amazing how a man who emerged from the Hejaz and fought under the British flag dreaming of the caliphate, then died in exile in Cyprus and his son was only given an emirate east of the Jordan River,” adding, “Look at those whom swords, wars, and historical enmities have divided, how the love of Zionists and the love of betrayal brought them together, they are now one hand!!”.

Jordan, the Little Israel

The researcher Elhamy wondered: “How can those whose ancestors served foreigners, turned in the arms of British and American intelligence, and had secret and open dealings with Zionists until they enabled them from Palestine, then from the West Bank, then from Al-Aqsa… How can such people define the meaning of patriotism and belonging in the first place”.

The writer concluded his post by saying: “This Jordanian regime, due to its extreme loyalty to foreigners and Zionists, has not changed for a hundred years… It is the only regime in this entire region that has proven – and continues to strive to prove – that it is akin to Little Israel”.
