Watan-At least two Israeli settlers were injured to varying degrees as a result of a shooting targeting a settlers’ bus near the town of Azun in the Qalqilya district of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli media reported that the shooting occurred near the town of Azun on Route 55, near the area of Prophet Elias near Qalqilya, before the perpetrator withdrew.
Meanwhile, Israeli army radio reported that infantry forces and drones are searching for the perpetrator who fled the scene on foot.
Renewed gunfire occurred during the pursuit of the perpetrator by Israeli forces near Prophet Elias, according to Palestinian sources.
One of the settlers injured in the shooting near Qalqilya was described as being in serious condition, with one of the injured arriving at the “Eliyahu” crossing, in addition to another injury on a settlers’ bus.
The seriously injured individual is a 19-year-old settler, and attempts are being made to save her life.

The Israeli army has mobilized its forces
The Israeli army spokesperson announced that the shooting targeted vehicles and a settlers’ bus near the town of Azun in Qalqilya.
The spokesperson stated that the army mobilized its forces to the scene and began combing operations in search of the perpetrators.
Surrounding streets closed
Following the shooting, Israeli forces closed Route 55 in both directions to traffic and advised drivers not to travel on the road and to seek alternative routes.
Israeli forces set up military checkpoints and deployed reinforcements to the area.
