Watan-The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that on Tuesday, they would release footage of the “Al-Abraar Ambush” operation targeting enemy soldiers and vehicles on the afternoon of the 27th of Ramadan from point zero in the Zanah area east of Khan Yunis city in southern Gaza Strip.
The announcement by Al-Qassam was accompanied by a picture from the ambush, posted on their Telegram channel.
The Al-Abraar Ambush in Zanah… 9 Soldiers Killed
The “Al-Abraar Ambush” in Zanah resulted in the killing of 9 soldiers. Al-Qassam Brigades announced on April 6th the killing of 14 Israeli soldiers in several operations carried out in Khan Yunis city in southern Gaza Strip, the most prominent of which was in the Zanah area.
Al-Qassam stated on Telegram: “Al-Qassam fighters managed to target 3 Zionist Merkava tanks with Yaseen 105 shells. As soon as the rescue forces advanced to the area and reached the center of a pre-prepared minefield, they were targeted with the detonation of 3 anti-personnel mines.”
They continued: “Our fighters confirmed the killing of 6 Zionist soldiers, turning them into body parts, and injuring another. The event is still ongoing at the moment in the Zanah area east of Khan Yunis city in southern Gaza Strip.”

Later on, Al-Qassam said in a statement: “Our fighters resumed targeting the rescue forces and soldiers who fled the scene and took refuge in one of the surrounding houses with an anti-personnel mine. Our fighters confirmed the killing of 3 Zionist soldiers, turning them into body parts, and injuring several others.”
It’s worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation army withdrew from Khan Yunis city on Sunday, April 7th, where Hebrew media outlets announced the end of ground maneuvers in the sector and the withdrawal of the 98th Brigade from the Khan Yunis area.
The army radio added that only the Nahal Brigade remains in Gaza, operating in the Netzarim corridor separating the north and south of the sector.
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz considered on Monday that the Israeli army withdrew its forces from Khan Yunis in southern Gaza Strip on Saturday night without achieving its main objectives.
It confirmed that the victory sought by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not as close as described.
